Yes, I use the ⌘ W to close tabs on Google Chrome as pretty much everybody.

One thing that annoyed me for quite a long is:
If you have a QWERTY keyboard (yes France, I am looking to you 😆) you may press accidentally the ⌘ Q and quit the whole browser without any warning!

But these times are over!



If you press ⌘ Q you’ll get a small toast | popup | box | thing on your screen that forces you to have the combination presses few seconds to close.

In order to activate you only need to go the the  Chrome menu and select Warn Before Quitting (⌘ Q) as you can see on the GIF bellow:
